How To Root Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE SGH i957
Step 1: Before proceeding the steps, You have to download the Samsung Drivers [Download] for your Mobile phone to your computer. Download Samsung Drivers and install.
Step 2: Download Da_G’s modded kernel and save it to your computer .
Step 3: Download Odin 1.85 and unzip the package into a folder on your computer .
Step 4: Once you have download the tool, you have to open the Odin tool in your computer .
Step 5: Turn off the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE and put the tab into Downloading mode. Once in the downloading mode, you need to press Volume Up+ Volume Down and power ON the device in the download mode. Press Volume up to proceed after warning screen.
Step 6: Now you have to connect the Tab to computer via USB cable. Odin 3 will automatically detect it and you will see yellow COM box in ODIN. (Please note this image is of another version of ODIN but the original ODIN You have downloaded is similar to this but working and drivers are different.)
Step 7: Click PDA button and select the file named as “sgh-i957-rooted-kernel-v2”.
Step 8: Don’t change any Odin options. Let be default values.
Step 9: Click on Start button and wait until you will see the green PASS Box
Step 10: Once the process is completed, the device will be restarted and it is successfully rooted. Now you have to disconnect the USB cable from the computer and download the app “Superuser” from Android market. This app will let you manage the root permissions to apps.
