According to the sources, Apple is going to release its new iPhone OS in just few days. The build is iOS 5.1 Gold Master Edition that’s being in testing phase from the last two-three weeks or so by the fruit company Apple Inc. Though Apple already seeded the iOS 5.1 beta version for the developers two months ago, and now a blog <chronicwire.com > reported that the iOS 5.1 Gold Master will be available shortly soon after the release the iPad 3 announcement.
Apple is working very hard along with its carrier partners to check its quality, and assure that iOS 5.1 will have lesser number of bugs than the iOS 5.0 and will also take care of the battery drain issue and other bugs. This new iOS 5.1 GM release will also support the Japanese Siri and some new interesting features like ability to access the camera from the lockscreen making it even easier than before.
The Gold Master build of iOS 5.1 has been in a vigorous quality assurance phase for the past three weeks, with extensive testing being done internally by Apple as well as by various carriers/partners.
Also the report contained some news about iOS 5.1 build number
The build number of iOS 5.1 Gold Master is 9B176 according to a very solid source, although three different partners who are testing the Gold Master claim to have slightly (by single digits) higher builds numbers on their copies, I’m assuming that’s because right now it’d make sense for those people to be testing what will soon be released as 5.1.1, so I’ve disregarded the claims.
All of us are waiting for the release of Apple’s new iOS 5.1, as this is the mazor update after Apple has released the iOS 5.0 in October 2011 with more than 200 new features and this upcoming build will add a few more to it.
Lets see when apple is planning to release it for the public too or it will again seed another beta version of iOS 5.1 for the registered developers first.
