How to Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Using PwnageTool On MAC

Step 1  : Create a folder on your desktop and rename it “Pwnage” and Place the Files downloaded Previously from the Prime Requisites Section above as shown in the Figure.

Step 2  : Now launch the PwnageTool and connect your iDevice to your PC  using your USB Cable and this will ask you to use the PwnageTool. Press OK.

Step 3  :  Click on “MODL Advanced” and select your device by clicking on the image in PwnageTool. Then press the blue arrow to continue. PwnageTool will find the file. Ipsw need to jailbreak. If this does not happen you can usually proceed with the manual selection of the same.

Step 4  : Click on the “General” and begin to customize your firmware. PwnageTool will ask if your iPhone is used with a SIM supported or not. Click Yes here otherwise opt for the opposite choice. Proceed by clicking on the blue arrow.

Step 5 : In this new screen you can add new repositories in Cydia and install the packages you want. In this way, once restored the custom firmware, you have already installed the software pre-selected. The other options are optional.

Step 6  : Now click on “Create” to start creating the custom firmware. This will open a new window asking you where to save the custom firmware created. Made this choice freely. At some point you will be prompted for your system password, enter it to complete the creation of custom firmware.

Step 7  : Finished browsing, you connect the device to your Mac and set it by following the instructions on the screen of PwnageTool in DFU mode. Once in this mode, PwnageTool will invite you to launch iTunes.

Step 8  : Open iTunes, go to your device in the schedule for iOS and click, hold down the ALT key, the “Restore” button. Select the new window that will appear on the screen of your Mac file.’s Custom firmware 5.0.1 ipsw file you created earlier and confirm the restore operation.
