Writing Kit is the universal app developed by Quang Anh Do for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users. The overall rating given to this app is 4 stars.
Writing kit helps the users to write down the text or edit it in the markdown formatted text and after that also save it in the variety of formats or export as HTML. The two things that are absent in previous note apps are now available in this new app known as “Writing Kit”. Those two things are HTML or writing formatted text and researching info.
Markdown in this context means that writing the notes by using easy to read and easy to write plain text format and then convert it into structurally XHTML. Some documents will appear while opening this app that contains welcome note and few tips.
Few steps to start with this app are mentioned below:-
- Firstly, create your own documents by selecting the +1 button present on the top toolbar.
- Now change the name of your new document by clicking on the “Untitled” option on the top.
- Users can also access other documents at any time by using the button with the filing cabinet icon on it.
Various features offered by this app are instapaper or readability, quick research, clutter free browsing experience, export, preview, custom themes, word and character count, cloudapp integration, markdown, reading queue, bookmarks, power search, import, textexpander, font choices, document outline, dropbox sync and much more.
A new row is added on the iPad keyboard that contains various buttons such as numbered lists, block quote, image, italic, heading, bulleted lists, code, link and bold. These buttons acts as the shortcut buttons for markdown syntax. It is also important to have image URL to insert the images and then uploaded to Cloudapp.
Some of the drawbacks of this app are that its interface is bit confusing and live conversion is not available. But still this app is very useful for writers.
