A good news for Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 that a new ROM has been arrived that named as Dark Edition HD ROM. You can also say that this ROM is an MIUI 4 Custom ROM and best part is that it comes with both ROMs that is Android 2.3.7 but some parts of the ICS framework and animations. This ROM is developed by the XDA developer Forum member 7hr08ik. You will be surprised to know that it can be flashed for both locked as well as unlocked bootloaders.

Please Note: that it is not an official update and has to be flashed using Recovery mode. Please for beginners, stay away from these kind of procedures as it will cause even brick off your mobile phone. You should be experience and knowledge about the ROMs, CWM and Recovery mode. At last, I would say that if something goes wrong we are not responsible so proceed at your own risk.
Note: This ROM is only compatible with Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, do not try to flash it on any other devices as it could damage your device.
Prime Requisites :
- A Rooted Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 along with Clockworkmod Recovery should be installed on your device. The Xperia X10 Drivers installed on your computer.
- Take Backup of your Android phone contacts, your apps and your accounts associated with it.
- Make sure Your Android phone is atleast 50% charged so that it can’t get switched off during the procedure.
- Make sure you are on the correct Baseband (2.1.71), you can get it from here.

How To Install Dark Edition HD ROM On Xperia X10:
Unlocked Bootloaders
Step 1: Enable USB Debugging mode on your device, You can do this
Settings> Applications> Development
Step 2: Download the ROM file and flashtool from here on your computer. After downloaded, extract the same file on your computer. It should have two files that is Kernel and Main ROM.
Step 3: Then connect the device via USB data cable and copy the main ROM file to your phone SD card.
Step 4: Now launch the flashtool on your computer and flash the kernel file.
Step 5: Once the flashing is done, turn off the device and reboot to CWM recovery. Then do a full wipe, Select “Wipe Data/Factory reset, then select “ Wipe Cache” and after that go to advanced select “Wipe Dalvik Cache”.
Step 6: Navigate to “Install zip from sd card” and then select “ Choose Zip from sd card” to select the main ROM file which you have placed in your phone.
Step 7: After the ROM flashing is done, select Go Back and then choose “Reboot System Now” option to reboot your device.
Locked Bootloaders:
Step 1: Before proceeding the steps, please backup your data.
Step 2: Then download LockedBL.zip from here and after downloaded, copy the file to your phone SD card.
Note: You need to install my modded kernel that comes with CWM5 first
- Do steps 3 and 4 if your current ROM is running on Stock Kernel.
- Skip step 3 and 4 if you are currently running my MIUI or FXP port.
Step 3: Download CWM5.zip from here and flash it with xRecovery.
Step 4: Then reboot and press back key when Xperia logo appears, you should get into CWM5.
Step 5: Then install the ROM and also Install LockedBL.zip.
Step 6: Then reboot it.
The ROM will run on my modded Free Kernel and support dual recoveries.
- To get into xRecovery, press the back key when SE logo appears.
- To get into CWM5, press the Back key when Xperia logo appears.

the link is broken with cwm5.zip and i have no clue what modded kernel you have….
i can install cwm5 recovery via flashtool,but i dont know where the kernel is….
