How To Update Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 With Android 4.0.3 ICS RC 3.1 Firmware
Step 1: Before proceeding the steps, your phone must be rooted and it is running on the latest rooted XXJVU firmware.

Step 2: Once you have rooted your device, download Android 4.0.3 ICS RC 3.1 firmware from here and save it.
Step 3: Once you have downloaded, connect the phone via USB data cable and copy the file to your SD card.
Step 4: Enable USB Debugging mode on your device, You can do this
Settings> Applications> Development
Step 5: Disconnect the device from computer, turn off the phone and enter into recovery mode.
Step 6: The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume up key + OK button and holding both simultaneously press the Power button.
Step 7: In Recovery mode, select “ Wipe data/factory reset” and “Wipe Cache partition” to clear all the cache in the device.
Step 8: In Recovery mode, Navigate to “Install zip from sd card” and then select “ Choose Zip from sd card” to select the ICS RC 3.1 zip file which you have placed in your phone.
Step 9: It will take 15 minutes for the update applied in the phone. In case the time exceeds 20 mins you need to take out the phone battery and reinsert it and reapply the process.
Step 10: Once the firmware has been updated, select the option “Reboot System Now” as to restart the phone. If reboot takes much time then dont worry this is the first boot of this firmware and will take time to start the phone.
