Note: For this Face unlock feature, you will need to root your phone. Without rooting, you will not be able to make use of Face Unlock feature. - You must have rooted Samsung Galaxy S2
- ClockworkMod recovery installed on it.
- Galaxy S2 running on Android 4.0.3 ICS XXKP8 Firmware.
How To Setup Face Unlock On Galaxy S2 Android 4.0 ICS:
Step 1: Before proceeding the steps, you must root your phone with Android 4.0.3 ICS XXKP8 Firmware.
Step 2: Then download the Face Unlock from here to your computer.
Step 3: Connect the device using Data cable and copy the downloaded zip file to your phone SD card.
Step 4: After copying, disconnect the device from computer, turn off the phone and enter into recovery mode.
Step 5: The Recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume Up On Volume Down button+ OK button while holding both simultaneously press the Power button.
Step 6: In Recovery mode, select “ Wipe data/factory reset” and “Wipe Cache partition”.
Step 7: Reboot your device by selecting “Reboot system now” from the recovery menu.
Step 8: Reboot your device again into recovery mode.
Step 9: After this, select “Install zip from sd card” and then select “ Choose Zip from sd card” to select the Face Unlock zip file which you have placed in your phone. After you have selected the file, installation will start.
Step 10: After installation, your device will again display the recovery menu screen. Select “Reboot System Now” to reboot the phone. Please note that it will take more than normal time for restarting the device. On the other hand, you can also opt to update this package from ClockworkMod recovery.
