Simple Steps To Root Motorola Droid Bionic XT875 On 5.9.902 Firmware
Step 1: Enable USB Debugging mode on your device, You can do this
Settings> Applications> Development
Step 2: Download 901 to 902 update zip package from here to your computer.
Step 3: After downloaded, connect the phone using USB data cable and copy the downloaded zip file to your external SD card.
Step 4: Then disconnect the phone, turn off the phone so as to enter the device in the safe strap recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing and holding the touch button with four squares on the left side of home button and press the power on button.
Step 5: In recovery mode, select “backup and restore” option to back up your current firmware along with the other system settings.
Step 6: Select Go Back and go to recovery mode screen, select “safe boot menu” and choose the option as “Toggle Safe System” after this go back and verify that option of “safe system is disabled” and choose “reboot system now”.
Step 7: After this turn off the phone and boot it into recovery mode by pressing and holding both the Volume rocker keys and turn on your device.
Step 8: Select the option “Recovery” choose the option “Apply update” browse the file 902 update and in case you get an error /debloated/icon-changed/ or something else then it a unknown issue but soon a solution of this will be finded by developers.
Step 9: Now reboot your phone and allow it to boot up. Once the phone show the home screen you can check for the system version by following the path Settings> About Phone.
Step 10: Check your phone is rooted or not you can use the application named as “Root Checker Basic”.
Step 11: Now you need to start the Safe strap application and select “Install recovery” with will reinstall the safe strap.
Step 12: Now reboot your phone and press the Menu button to enter into the safe strap recovery mode and then “backup and restore” and generate a backup of 902 system and select the option “safe boot menu” to select the toggle safe system.
Step 13: And wait till this command is processed and select Go back and verify that the safe system is enabled or not and then select the options “Wipe Cache Partition” and “Wipe Dalvik Cache”. Then again go back and select the option “Power Off”.
Step 14: Once the device is powered Off completely, you need to restart the device. Just in case if the device refuses to turn ON and then you will need to select “Wipe Data/factory reset” from the recovery mode and then select “reboot system now” to restart the device.

i absolutley can not get my phone into recovery mode i hold the 4 square button then hit the power button and everytime it loads normaly. if anyone can figure it out…

IT seems to use safe strap, you have to root your phone. What am I missing here?
What if the device is set to factory settings (Enable USB Debugging mode impossible)? I can’t get passed the setup screen because I don’t have a Verizon sim card…
