How To Update Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 With Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread XXKL3 Firmware
Step 1: Download Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread XXKL3 firmware and save it to your computer. It will contain the tools like Odin and other firmware files.
Step 2: After downloading, extract the files to a separate folder in your computer. You will be prompted to enter the password, enter the password as “android” without inverted commas.
Step 3: Enable USB Debugging mode on your device, You can do this
Settings> Applications> Development
Step 4: Open the Odin file in your computer and turn off the device and enter into download mode.
Step 5: The download mode can be entered by pressing volume down key+ OK button and holding both simultaneoulsy press the power button.
Step 6: Connect the device via USB data cable while keeping the Odin opened. When you connect the device, the Odin program will automatically detect it and you will see yellow ID:COM box in ODIN which mean that all the drivers are loaded successfully.
Note: If ODIN doesn’t turn yellow, the you should not proceed to the next step. Then you need to Install the Samsung USB drivers, and the .Net Framework (its free) and also update KIES with the latest version.
Step 7: In Odin, select the PDA option and then select the file mentioned below. Do not select any option like PIT, Phone, CSC.
- PDA: S5360XXKL3_S5360KPPKJ1_S5360XXKL3_HOME.tar.md5
Step 8: Click on Start button and process will begin. Once the update is installed successfully, the device will restart and you may asked to enter the Google Account preferences along with the Internet connectivity options.
Step 9: Then turn off the Galaxy Y S5360 and enter into recovery mode.
Step 10: The Recovery mode can be entered by pressing volume up on volume down key+ OK button and holding both simultaneoulsy press the power button.
Step 11: In Recovery mode, select “ Wipe data/factory reset” and “Wipe Cache partition”.
Step 12: After this, reboot by selecting reboot system now option.
Step 13: Check your firmware version by going to Settings> About Phone> Firmware version and you will find the version of Android 2.3.6 XXKL3 firmware. If not applied, repeat the process again.
